Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan

It's about Darren and his friend Steve going to Cirque Du Freak and Steve figuring out that one of the freaks is a vampire.

He goes backstage after the show and asks him to turn him into a vampire. The thing is Darren watched the whole thing and steals the pet spider of the vampire.

It bites Steve and Darren saves Steve by becoming a vampire apprentice. But what he doesn't know is Steve has planned his whole life around finding and slaying Darren.
