They can create and they have full control over any shadow as they are shadows themselves.
Their unigue discipline called "obtenebration" is what empowers them to create and conrol shadows, thus enabling them to transform their own bodies into expressions of darkness and emptiness.
Some of them share their clan founders' fetish for the ocean that they are often caught in a trance of staring emptily at the ocean in silence.
Some even go to the extent of engaging in long sea travels and a number of Antitribu even choose to live at the sea, enjoying pirate and perhaps vampire privileges that the waters have to offer.
They were associated with the High Clans in the Dark Ages which was equivalent to the noble Cainites.
Members of this clan payed a major role in the forming of the Sabbat after the forming of the Camarilla and the Anarch Revolt.
The Modern Nights
The Lasombra, together with clan Tzimisce formed the majority of the Sabbat.
Being one of the founders of the Sabbat, members of this held high positions in the Sabbat which satisfied their keen interest in power and politics.
The Lasombra Clan is rumored as the Sabbat's answer to the Ventrue Clan, which they consider as their immortal enemies.

The Vampire Bloodline Lasombra Antitribu is associated with the Camarilla and has long existed, probably as long as the Sabbat.
The Vampire Bloodline Kiasyd trace their roots to Marconious, a Lasombra vampire who had himself infused with blood of fae.
The Vampire Bloodline Xi Dundu originally rooted from the Congo. They took their name from a Bavili word which means "Shadow".
