We lived in a hill station, and went to school on another hill. We used to take a walk from home on a steep hill, covered with trees and brushes.
The population at that time was less in that town, and so it was as though we were the only people on the road. The atmosphere itself made us imagine different things.
We used to share imaginary as well as some real fright stories with one another. In course of time we became so used to it, that we were not easily frightened.
We started feeding our fear by watching Dracula, vampire and Oman series movies. On holidays all of us will gather is one of our houses and close all the windows, doors and make an eerie atmosphere and start watching the movies.
It used to be so thrilling that we wanted to watch the movies in cinemas. But our parents would not allow. But we sneaked one day and went to a vampire movie saying that we are having a sleep over.
It just so happened that the theater was also on a hill with a steep slope nearby and covered by trees and shrubs; to add fuel to the fire, there was a huge unoccupied house on the way to the theater.
We were enjoying the thrill, all the while we walked to the theater. We got the tickets and settled ourselves in the cold seats. The name of the movie was “Fright Night” Charlie Brewster, believes that his neighbor Jerry is a vampire.
When girls die mysteriously in the neighborhood, the suspicion grows. Charlie decides to slay the vampire. William Ragsdale and Chris Sarandon have acted in the lead roles. The movie was so frightening that we were afraid to come out of the theater when the movie was over.
Luckily, one of our friend’s uncle had also come and he took us to his house for the night. We wanted to watch the movie again, but didn’t dare go near the theater also for quite some days. It became our favorite movie and we kept on talking about it for many days.
