Vampire In A Meadow

by Monique
(Manitoba)

He leads me into a Meadow,
A place of eternal bliss,
This place is so beautiful,
A place of love's first kiss.
As he pulls me away,
With my scent going through him,
His eyes change to cold topaz,
Numbness enters my every limb.
He says he's "sorry it's not your fault",
His eyes return to normal,
His arms wrapping tightly around me,
His face so white to mine, and eyes so formal.
I can't help but notice how beautiful he is,
With skin so white and eyes so comforting,
In the Meadow, time stands still,
Feeling like this moment is never-ending.
For once it feels there is no difference,
Between someone normal like me,
And someone born to a life of eternal darkness like him,
For he tells me, to his heart I am the key.
He takes my hands in his,
His skin so cold against mine yet, stangely soothing,
I lean in and whisper "I love you",
He only looks at me, in his eyes and on his face a grin so amazing.
With his hands now on my face,
I feel immortal and like I could live forever,
I never want to part with this amazing figure,
But I am still human, while his life ends never.
To this, a Vampire In A Meadow
